PARARE spearheads an Australia wide network of experience crisis leadership practitioners, focussed on supporting and improving the responses and resilience of Board and Executive decision makers at decisive points. Reducing and mitigating risk is key.
ARARE supports leaders making decisions. Cognitively we use different skills to make a decision in groups rather than individually. We employ different processes to make decisions in critical situations rather than in longer term planning situations. In time-pressured, complex and confusing environments, gaining situational awareness through of events and context is difficult. Our strategic and critical incident planning processes have proven to be effective across a range of operational environments. Through a range of tailored leadership training exercises and products PARARE can assist in linking strategy with outcomes.
Unsurprisingly, preparation results in risk reduction. AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 defines risk ‘in terms of the effect of uncertainty on objectives’.
